Kingdom Stars Assembly is a parish of The Redeemed Christian Church of God at 687 Eramosa Road, Guelph, Ontario. This page explains what information our website collects, why we collect it and what we do with it. We handle personal information in line with the principles of Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
What we collect
Most of this website can be read without giving us anything. We only collect information when you choose to send it to us.
- Forms. When you fill in a connect card, contact form, prayer request, testimony, transportation request, volunteer application, baptism request, baby dedication request or suggestion, we receive what you type: usually your name, email address, phone number and your message. Some forms let you attach a photo or video.
- Newcomers handbook. To download the Guelph Newcomers Handbook we ask for your name and email address, and your phone number if you wish to share it.
- Church family records. If you are part of our church family, the church office keeps your contact details and, where you have shared them, your birthday and wedding anniversary so that we can celebrate you (see the weekly celebrations email below).
- Technical information. Like every website, our hosting provider records basic technical details such as your IP address and browser type in order to serve pages and protect the site from abuse.
How we use it
We use your information to reply to you, to pray for you, to arrange the help you asked for, to welcome you and keep you informed about church life, and to send birthday and anniversary greetings. Prayer requests marked confidential are seen only by the prayer team, the pastors and the church's system administrator. We do not sell your information and we do not use it for advertising.
Weekly celebrations email
Each Saturday, everyone on our church email list, including people who joined our mailing list, receives an email with the birthdays and wedding anniversaries coming up in the week ahead, so the church family can celebrate together. For each person celebrating, it shows their name, email address and phone number. For children and teenagers, only a parent's contact details are shown. You can ask the church office to leave you out of this email or to hide your contact details, and every one of these emails has an unsubscribe link. If you unsubscribe, we keep your email address only so that we do not email you again.
Who handles it for us
A small number of service providers process information on our behalf. None of them may use it for their own purposes.
- Cloudflare hosts the website and stores form submissions and uploaded files. Cloudflare also provides Turnstile, a check that helps us tell people from automated bots when a form is sent.
- MailerLite handles sign-ups to our mailing list. When you request the newcomers handbook, you can tick a box to join our Newcomers' Handbook list. Joining is optional. Every MailerLite email includes an unsubscribe link.
- Resend delivers our email, including notifications to our team, greetings to members, the weekly celebrations email and our newsletter, and keeps the list of people who receive the newsletter and the weekly email.
- Google provides the fonts on this site and the map on our contact page. YouTube hosts our videos through its privacy-enhanced player, which does not set cookies until you press play.
- ChurchPad processes online giving. When you give, you leave our website and ChurchPad's own privacy policy applies. We never see your card details.
Our providers (Cloudflare, Resend, MailerLite, Google and YouTube) may store information outside Canada, for example in the United States.
Cookies
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not run analytics that identify you. If we measure site traffic, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which works without cookies and does not track individuals. Embedded services such as YouTube, Google Maps and Turnstile may set their own cookies when you interact with them.
How long we keep it
Form submissions stay in our secure church dashboard while our team deals with them. Archived submissions are deleted 12 months after we received them. Sign-in security logs are kept for up to two days, and records of the emails we send for up to about 13 months. Mailing list details stay until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you. Church family records are kept while you are part of our church family, or until you ask us to remove them.
Your choices
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it or have it deleted. Write to [email protected] or speak to the church office on a Sunday. You can leave our mailing list or the weekly celebrations email at any time using the unsubscribe link in those emails. You can also stop the personal birthday and anniversary greetings: reply to a greeting email, or ask the church office. Greetings for children and teenagers are sent to a parent, not to the child.
Children
Our children's and youth programs collect information from parents and guardians, not from children directly. Church family records may include a teenager's own contact details when a parent shares them. In the weekly celebrations email, children and teenagers are shown only with a parent's contact details. If you believe a child has sent us information without a parent's knowledge, contact us and we will remove it.
Security
The website is served over HTTPS. Form submissions are stored in an access-controlled dashboard that only authorised team members can open, each with their own login and only the sections they need. The email that tells the church office about a new form contains no details of what you wrote; the details stay in the secure dashboard. Staff sign-in attempts are logged with a network (IP) address for security.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
